Campaign for Client Protection - The Campaign for Client Protection in Microfinance seeks to unite microfinance providers worldwide to develop and implement standards for the appropriate treatment of low-income clients based on the six principles. The overall objective of the Campaign is for these principles to become embedded in the fabric of the microfinance community and for microfinance to be recognized as a strongly pro-consumer industry.

 

CERISE - Offers information about its work on social performance indicators and their integration into the MIX Market reporting.  

 

Imp-Act Consortium - Global group of organizations working to promote and support the management of social performance by MFIs. The Consortium provides training in social performance management, sharing of lessons learned and good practices, and promotion of reporting on social performance.

 

Imp-Act SPM Network - Community space created by the Imp-Act Consortium to connect individuals and organizations committed to managing and achieving social performance in microfinance.

 

Microfinance Gateway “Hot Topics” - provides basic introductory information on social performance and social performance assessment tools.

 

Microfinance Rating and Assessment Initiative is a program designed to support and encourage the use of financial and social ratings and was launched by ADA in collaboration with the Government of Luxembourg, the Microfinance Initiative Liechtenstein, the Swiss Cooperation, ResponsAbility and Oxfam Novib. The Rating Initiative was officially launched on the 19th of September 2008.

 

Microfinance Transparency - MFTransparency is a global initiative for fair and transparent pricing in the microfinance industry. It promotes a microfinance industry operating with healthy free market conditions where consumers and other stakeholders can make informed decisions.

 

MIX - MIX’s role is to be a leader in the process of creating a core set of indicators for the microfinance industry to report on social performance; collect data on the social performance indicators and make them available publicly; improve social performance benchmarks which will eventually be integrated into the MicroBanking Bulletin benchmarks; and disseminate and promote information sharing and news about social performance reporting and standardization.

 

Poverty Assessment Tools (IRIS and USAID) www.povertytools.org - This site is intended to inform and help organizations as they apply the Poverty Assessment Tools. All USAID-certified poverty asessment tools and accompanying training materials are freely available on this site to any user to help measure extreme poverty at the household level.

 

Progress Out of Poverty Index - Developed by Grameen Foundation for the microfinance industry to ensure that MFIs are moving their clients out of poverty after five years, and to foster good practices for measuring the progress of individuals’ movement across poverty lines. The Progress Out of Poverty Index site has information on the tool and case studies from users. 

 

SEEP Network resources on Social Performance - The Social Performance Working Group at SEEP is comprised of practitioners who aim to advance the frontiers of knowledge and practice among MFI in all areas of client assessment, particularly impact assessment, impact monitoring, market research, and social performance. It has put together the SEEP Social Performance Map to provide an overview of social performance and the current tools available.

SP Indicators Blog

The Social Performance Indicators Blog aims to serve as a platform for learning and exchange on topics related to social performance in microfinance. Each week we will address a different subject related to social performance measurement by interviewing relevant stakeholders, with the purpose of gaining a deeper understanding of how to assess the social performance of microfinance institutions (MFIs) and contributing to the need for information and greater transparency within the industry. www.spblog.org
