2010 Annual Meeting

Annual Meeting
June 28-July 2, 2010 – Bern, Switzerland

January 22, 2010

Dear Social Performance Task Force members,

We are happy to announce that the next SPTF annual meeting will take place June 30-July 1, 2010 in Bern, Switzerland. The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Liechtenstein Development Service, CGAP and The Ford Foundation are co-hosts of the meeting. There will be pre-meetings on June 28 and 29 (including a day-long introduction to social performance and the SPTF) and post-meetings on July 2. We are preparing a detailed agenda and will be contacting all members regarding its development in the coming weeks. In the meantime, you can find a general event calendar below. We are especially fortunate this year that SDC has arranged a tour to the mountains for Saturday morning and early afternoon on July 3 for interested participants.

SDC has arranged for the pre- and post-meetings, and all complementary activities to take place in a top-rate facility in the center of Bern: the Kursaal Bern Congress and Culture Centre. More information about the venue, as well as maps, directions for arrival and photos of the facilities may be found at www.kursaal-bern.ch. Information on hotels, making reservations and the lovely city of Bern are attached to this email.

We look forward to seeing you in June. Please let us know as soon as possible if you plan to join us, as participation will be limited. Send communications to dbarba@alternative-credit.com. Please indicate which days and meetings you plan on attending, and if you wish to take the July 3 mountain tour. Once we have confirmed your participation, we will send you a visa application format and further instructions for obtaining a visa.

See you in Bern!

SP Indicators Blog

The Social Performance Indicators Blog aims to serve as a platform for learning and exchange on topics related to social performance in microfinance. Each week we will address a different subject related to social performance measurement by interviewing relevant stakeholders, with the purpose of gaining a deeper understanding of how to assess the social performance of microfinance institutions (MFIs) and contributing to the need for information and greater transparency within the industry. www.spblog.org
