Poverty Measurement--led by Nigel Biggar, Grameen Foundation

Poverty measurement refers to the tools and activities that MFIs use to assess the poverty levels of their clients, and in some cases, to track changes in these poverty levels over time. SPTF’s Poverty Measurement Working group is charged with promoting transparency in understanding the poverty levels of MFI clients and enabling MFIs to serve even poorer clients.

This effort will be driven by the working group members and will involve regular meetings with group members at which time members will review:
* Organisations using poverty measurement tools
* Collected poverty data
* Identified of good practices in poverty outreach
* Plans for two case studies of good practice in poverty outreach

SP Indicators Blog

The Social Performance Indicators Blog aims to serve as a platform for learning and exchange on topics related to social performance in microfinance. Each week we will address a different subject related to social performance measurement by interviewing relevant stakeholders, with the purpose of gaining a deeper understanding of how to assess the social performance of microfinance institutions (MFIs) and contributing to the need for information and greater transparency within the industry. www.spblog.org
